A Wildlife Photography Adventure
Where Africa Still Feels Untouched
South Luangwa is one of Africa’s last great wilderness strongholds, a valley shaped by river, light, and extraordinary wildlife density. Known as the “Valley of the Leopard,” it offers some of the most consistent and intimate big cat encounters on the continent, alongside elephants, lions, and remarkable birdlife.
Framing the Wild is a small-group photographic safari limited to just four guests, designed for time, positioning, and patience. With remote northern access, purpose-built vehicles, and exclusive ground-level hides, this experience prioritizes meaningful encounters and the space to create powerful, story-driven images.

Itinerary
Immerse yourself in Africa at its wildest on a small group photographic safari to South Luangwa, where legendary leopard sightings, dramatic predator encounters, and vibrant birdlife unfold in extraordinary light.
Day 1 | Arrive in Lusaka, Zambia
Arrive at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, Zambia, where you’ll be transferred to our group hotel and settle into comfortable accommodations. That evening, gather with your fellow travelers for a relaxed welcome dinner, an opportunity to connect, share stories, and begin imagining the extraordinary adventure that awaits in the days ahead.
Day 2 | To South Luangwa
Today we leave the city behind and journey into the heart of the wild. After checking out of our group hotel, we’ll take a short 70-minute flight to Mfuwe Airport, where our guides will meet us for a scenic 2.5–3 hour drive through wildlife-rich areas to our first camp. Keep your camera close because this drive often doubles as an introduction to South Luangwa, with unexpected encounters possible along the way.
Upon arrival, we’ll settle into our beautiful accommodations and enjoy a relaxed lunch before heading out on our first game drive, officially beginning our immersive safari experience.
Day 3 - 6 | Exploring South Luangwa
The days that follow unfold at the natural rhythm of the bush, filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters during morning and afternoon game drives. We may choose to experience a guided walking safari, an intimate and truly magical way to connect with the landscape or opt for a shorter, personal walk during the midday break, accompanied by a guide in the surrounding area.
Each day remains intentionally flexible, shaped by animal movement, light, and the ever changing conditions of the wilderness. During the warmer hours, enjoy the quiet luxury of camp life; resting, editing images, or savoring a cool drink as wildlife drifts past before heading back out as the light softens and the bush comes alive once more.
Day 7 | A Little Change of Scenery
This morning begins with a final game drive before we journey onward to our next camp. After a short scenic transfer, we’ll arrive at our new and beautifully situated camp, settle in, and enjoy a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, we head back out into the field to explore a new area, opening the door to fresh wildlife encounters and photographic opportunities.
Day 8 - 9 | New and Exciting Wildlife Encounters
We’ll continue to explore this new area in depth, discovering its unique rhythms and wildlife opportunities. Perhaps the day calls for another guided walking safari, offering an intimate connection to the landscape, or time spent in one of the hides, quietly observing wildlife as scenes unfold naturally before us. Whatever the plan, each day promises remarkable encounters, unhurried time in the field, and the warm, attentive hospitality of our camp, creating a perfect balance between adventure and comfort.
Day 10 | Saying Goodbye
As all great journeys must eventually draw to a close, today we bid farewell to the wonderful lodge staff and begin our return to Lusaka. Our scenic three hour drive back to Mfuwe Airport winds once more through South Luangwa's wildlife rich landscapes so keep your camera close, as the final moments of the safari often hold unexpected surprises. From Mfuwe, we’ll take a short flight back to Lusaka, where guests will connect with their international flights home, or perhaps choose to linger a little longer and savor more of Zambia’s warm hospitality.

" this safari exceeded all expectations"
★★★★★
I recently returned from an unforgettable photographic safari to South Africa, led by Jennifer Hadley. From start to finish, it was a dream come true for photography enthusiasts. The rhythm of each day seemed a perfect balance of adventure (tracking wildlife), photography, learning, conservation, and even a bit of relaxation. Jennifer was truly exceptional. Energetic, fun and incredibly knowledgeable, she brought a contagious enthusiasm to every game drive. What really stood out was how helpful she was with photography, providing tips, techniques and hands-on assistance to ensure everyone got the best shots possible. Overall, this safari exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique photographic experience in the wild!

" I would definitely recommend Jennifer Hadley's tours"
★★★★★
Jennifer offered a phenomenal 10 days of photographic experiences and provided a great driver/guide - Noelle (Tchagra Trails)! Together they gave us a phenomenal safari in Timbavati and Madikwe in South Africa! The rooms were more than comfortable, the food was awesome and each day was full of magnificent wildlife and fun. I would definitely recommend Jennifer Hadley's tours to South Africa and any other destination she offers as each are well planned for the optimum experience of those participating.
